Infant Baby Survival Swimming instructor - Aqua Baby Survival Swim School

Aqua Baby Survival Swim School was founded by Nicole Nusshag, a certified Infant Aquatic Survival® Specialist and mother of 2. As a mother herself, Nicole understands the need for parents to have resources for drowning prevention available. After all, drowning is one of the leading causes of childhood injuries and fatalities. However, Nicole found an absence of certified survival swim instructors in the area when she moved to Tucson in 2018. So, she opened Aqua Baby Survival Swim School following her training and certification through the Infant Aquatics® program.

A Lifelong Passion for the Water

Nicole has spent her life loving the water. She grew up swimming in lakes, rivers, and any natural body of water she encountered. Eventually, she also became a PADI open water certified SCUBA diver. Yet, when she became a mother in 2015, Nicole was struck with the knowledge that drowning is such a prevalent risk for young children. She decided to seek out survival swim lessons for her first child through an Infant Aquatics® certified instructor. That experience guided her to share her passion for the water and foundational safety skills with countless children as an instructor herself.

Bringing Survival Swim Lessons to the Tucson Area

As a certified survival swim instructor, Nicole opened Aqua Baby Survival Swim School with the goal of offering parents the same peace of mind that she has when her children are in and around the water. In the Tucson area, it is essential for young kids to be prepared around the water since backyard and community pools are so prevalent. In addition, building a foundation of water safety skills for your child will help you rest easy as you start to plan family vacations to the beach or other waterside destinations.

Because Nicole became an instructor after bringing her first child to an Infant Aquatics® swim instructor herself, she knows exactly what parents are feeling the first time their own children go underwater. While the experience can be a little nerve-wracking at first, you’ll quickly see your child becoming a more comfortable and confident swimmer. You’ll also rest assured knowing that he or she is learning the specific skills needed to prevent drowning.
